====== New Player Quick Start ======

New players will spawn at or near the shore at [[Birke's Landing]]. Following the coast north for 150m takes you to [[Ashwood Landing]], where you can proceed further north to [[Briar Hollow]] and trade for diamond equipment at [[Briar Hollow#Armory|the armory]]. The blacksmiths accept iron which you can get from the surplus at the building or obtain more from the receptacle at [[Briar Hollow#Iron Grinder|the fountain]]. [[Briar Hollow#Library|The library]] provides essential enchantments which you can upgrade your gear with after resetting it on the grindstone.

Food can quickly be obtained by fishing at the dock, diving for kelp, or on the road through town. Our recommended long-term food source is golden carrots sold at [[Bristleberry Bazaar|the market]].

Other essentials readily traded at the market include bows, lanterns, item frames, paintings, glass, bricks, quartz, saddles, and nametags.

[[Turtle Grove]] has most types of trees, crops, and animals, making an excellent region for a first house. Many resources are renewable by bonemeal which can be obtained from the cactus farm, iron grinder poppies, or optimally from the skeletons at [[Ossuary Bay]].

Our most effective source of xp is trading for items and xp bottles at the market, followed by farming skeletons at the bay.
